Muscle relaxant injections are the same as anti-wrinkle injections and are used to relax the muscles. A thin needle is used to inject the anti-wrinkle product directly into muscles.

Muscle relaxant injections have become a popular “lunchtime rejuvenation” option for patients looking for a quick enhancement in their appearance without the recovery period associated with surgery.

Many clients assume that muscle relaxants are only used to treat cosmetic concerns such as laugh lines. However, these products also have other uses:
Jaw slimming. A large or square jaw appearance is often caused by overly developed masseter (chewing) muscles, which add bulk to the lower jaw. Jaw slimming injections work by weakening the chewing muscles. As these muscles relax, a square or heavy lower jawline attains a softer angle. Many clients find this treatment makes them look less aggressive or masculine, giving them a softer, more feminine appearance.

Neck Platysmal band. The Platysma muscle is located in the neck. As we age, it begins to tighten, forming prominent lines at the front of the neck.Platysmal band injections can relax these unsightly bands. Many clients find this treatment leaves them with a smoother, younger-looking neck.
Excessive sweating. This condition can cause our underarms, palms of our hands or soles of our feet to cause overproduction and an excessive amount of sweat. By injecting muscle relaxant into these areas, the signals between the nerves and sweat glands are impaired and the over-stimulation of these sweat glands will significantly decrease.Injections of muscle relaxant in this treatment cause no changes in the appearance of the area. The injections are focused only on the function of the glands.
Haytox.

After injections it is common to experience redness, swelling, bruising, and soreness. These minor side effects can be expected to dissipate within a few days and can be camouflaged with make-up. Serious complications are rare, but include infection and long-term numbness of the treated area.

After undergoing muscle relaxant injections, do not rub or touch the injected area for 12 hours and avoid lying down for 4 hours. These movements can spread the injected product into surrounding muscles, resulting in their unintentional weakening.

There is no recovery time necessary and clients can return home or to work immediately after the injection process. There are no specific aftercare instructions and no downtime.

Muscle relaxant injections stop signals travelling between nerves and sweat glands. By blocking the neurotransmitter, sweat glands can no longer be overstimulated. As a result, the activity of the sweat glands is decreased.
Injections of muscle relaxant in this treatment cause no changes in the appearance of the area. The injections are focused only on the function of the glands. Multiple injection points are used throughout the area to target all of the sweat glands. Due to the larger surface area being injected, this treatment requires more muscle relaxant than an area being treated for cosmetic concerns.
If you have experienced excessive sweating and are looking for a long-term solution, muscle relaxant treatments may be right for you. Most candidates have already tried strong antiperspirants, but have not found them satisfactory. If nothing has worked to control your sweating, you may want to try muscle relaxant treatments. They are appropriate for most adult men and women who are in good overall health.
The results of this treatment last for 6-8 months. Many clients return for repeat injections in order to maintain its effects.

The Platysma muscle is located in the neck. As we age, it begins to tighten, forming prominent lines at the front of the neck. Muscle relaxant injections can relax these unsightly bands. If your platysma bands are prominent, especially when you are speaking, you may be a good candidate for this treatment. Ideal candidates tend to be under the age of 55 because their skin is more elastic.

During the treatment, injections of a muscle relaxant are placed in the platysma muscle. These relaxants block nerve signals, causing controlled weakening of these muscles. This, in turn, causes the bands to flatten, blending in with the rest of the neck.

The results of this treatment usually last 3 to 6 months. Over time, the effects wear off, and the platysma muscle is again able to contract, causing the bands to reappear.

Jaw slimming injections work by weakening the chewing muscles. As these muscles relax, a square or heavy lower jawline attains a softer angle.

This treatment works particularly well on clients whose masseter muscles have been built up by excessive chewing or grinding at night. If you are considering jaw slimming treatments, schedule a consultation visit to determine whether you are a good candidate for this technique.
